Logistics & Customs Coordination
Bulk pipe shipping from China — container selection, export documentation, material certificates, and customs clearance to your destination port.
What We Do
Shipping bulk pipe is not the same as shipping cartons. Pipe length, bundle diameter, wall thickness, end protection, loading pressure, and document accuracy all affect whether the cargo arrives usable and clears customs smoothly. We coordinate container planning, factory loading, export documentation, freight forwarding, and buyer-side communication so the shipment matches the commercial order and the project requirements.
This service is most useful after the supplier and purchase order are already confirmed. It can be standalone logistics coordination or part of a full sourcing engagement where we also manage inspection, payment milestones, and document review.

What We Coordinate
Container selection and loading
- Pipe length vs container internal dimensions — pipes longer than 11.8m require open-top containers
- Loading configuration to prevent pipe deformation in transit
- Adequate end protection and pipe stacking support
- Bundle weight, forklift access, dunnage, and loading sequence
- Container photos before sealing, including seal number and cargo condition
Export documentation
We ensure the factory prepares a complete export documentation set:
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Certificate of Origin (Form E for ASEAN, Form A for GSP countries)
- Material test certificates (ISO 4427 conformity, resin batch records)
- Test reports (hydrostatic pressure test, dimensional inspection)
- Bill of Lading
Freight forwarding
We work with established freight forwarders from China’s major pipe manufacturing ports (Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Guangzhou). We pass freight costs through at cost — no markup.
Customs clearance at destination
We can coordinate with local customs brokers at your destination port, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Middle East where we have established relationships.
What We Need From You
Send the destination port, Incoterm, product list, pipe length, order quantity, packing requirement, and any customs or project documentation requirements from your importer or end client. If you already have a freight forwarder, we can coordinate with them. If not, we request rates from forwarders that have experience with oversized or bulky pipe cargo.
For long HDPE pipe, 40’ container planning must be checked carefully. A nominal 12m pipe may need to be produced at 11.8m or 11.9m to fit inside a 40’ container, depending on the pipe end and loading method. For steel pipe, bundle weight and lifting method matter more. For large-diameter pipe, deformation risk and stacking support become the main concern.
Common Logistics Problems We Prevent
- Pipe length does not fit the selected container
- Factory loads too tightly and deforms plastic pipe during transit
- Pipe ends are damaged because caps or protection were not specified
- Documents show a different product description from the invoice or PO
- Certificate of origin is requested too late for the shipment schedule
- Supplier ships before inspection release or before document review
- Customs broker at destination receives incomplete material certificates
Loading Control
When loading is part of the scope, we request or supervise a practical photo record: empty container condition, cargo before loading, bundle labels, loading sequence, final loaded view, container number, and seal number. For high-risk shipments, this can be paired with the pre-shipment inspection report so the buyer can connect inspected goods to the loaded container.
Loading photos do not replace inspection, but they reduce disputes about damage, shortage, wrong packing, or container condition. They also give the buyer evidence to review before final shipping documents are released.
Transit Times (typical)
| Destination | Transit time |
|---|---|
| Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia | 10–18 days |
| UAE, Saudi Arabia | 18–25 days |
| UK, Netherlands | 28–35 days |
| Australia | 22–30 days |
Pricing
Freight costs are passed through at actual cost (no markup). Our coordination fee is included in commission engagements. For standalone logistics coordination: from $200.
